| Ministry Proclamation I am the blessed seed of Abraham. As such: I am excellent. I am more than a conqueror. I AM THE PROMISE of the Covenant! |
What is the Promise? Now the Lord had said to Abram: "Get out of your country, from your family, and from your father's house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed. Genesis 12:1-3 (NKJV) Abraham's calling had a purpose and his obedience would bring forth great blessings. God makes a covenant with Abraham. In exchange for obedience, God promises that He would do some things for Abraham. 1) God promised great personal blessing, his name would be great and he himself would be a channel of blessing to others. 2) God promised Abraham that he would be the father of a great nation with innumerable posterity, compared to the dust of the earth and the heaven, His descendants were to be famous, including kings and would encompass more than one great nation. 3) God promised Abraham the title of land to God had directed him. 4) God promised Abraham that through him all the families of the earth would be blessed. This promise goes beyond Abraham's physical lineage and concerned all nations. It was Abraham's obedience that allowed a medium through which Jesus was able to enter into the world. The One through which all of the families in the world are blessed! Abraham's response to God's promise was absolute faith. His departure demonstrated an unparallelled act of faith. Abraham's obedience set off a chain reaction that not only allowed him to be blessed but it also allowed him to be a blessing to others. Abraham's obedience changed the world forever! Who Is The Promise? You are the fulfillment of that promise! You are blessed because of Abraham's obedience. You are a member of the great nation that God promised Abraham so many years ago. The New Testament confirms that "they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham." Galations 3: 6-9. And, just like Abraham, your calling has a purpose! It is in your obedience that God is not only able to bless you but He is also able to use you as a means, a conduit, to bless your descendants and others around you. Everything that God promised Father Abraham can be found in you. The problem is that we are so busy looking for the promise, we forget to BE the promise. Our desire should go beyond receiving a blessing. We should always want to BE a blessing. Our obedience gives us unprecedented access to Him and his blessings. As we submit ourselves to God, we find that are able to make great conquests and fulfill the destinies that are set before us. |
